Part A: Terms for work-seekers (MOL-LEG-18)
1. Free for work-seekers, always
1.1 Registering, uploading a CV and documents, creating a profile, verification, being matched, interview arrangements and placement are free for work-seekers. Molecules does not charge any work-seeker any fee for any employment service and does not deduct anything from your wages for a placement (Employment Services Act 4 of 2014, section 15).
1.2 Employers pay Molecules for access to matched profiles and for placements.
1.3 Optional Molecules Academy training is a separate product. You never have to buy training, uniforms or tools to be listed, verified or placed. Training may be sponsored by an employer, partner or skills-development grant at no cost to you.
2. Registration
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old and legally allowed to work in South Africa.
3. Your profile
3.1 Employers see a code-named profile (for example “Marula 27, MT-4K21A”), your skills, experience, badges, area and availability: never your name, phone number, address or ID number until you agree to an interview or placement.
3.2 Keep your profile accurate. False information may lead to removal.
4. Verification (with your consent)
4.1 With your separate written consent, Molecules checks your ID, references, qualifications and, where an employer requires it, your criminal record through an accredited screening provider (POPIA sections 26-33). You may refuse; your profile then shows that item as not checked.
4.2 Molecules does not keep your original ID or certificates: copies only (Employment Services Act s14).
5. Placement
5.1 If you are placed, your employer is the client, not Molecules, unless you are placed as a Molecules employee on a locum basis, in which case a Molecules employment contract applies.
5.2 Employers must pay at least the National Minimum Wage (R30.23 per hour from 1 March 2026) and Sectoral Determination 7 conditions for domestic workers, or the contract-cleaning sector minimum (R33.27 per hour in its scope) for contract cleaners, register you for UIF and COIDA, and give you written particulars of employment.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your information at any time (use your private profile link or WhatsApp us). Complaints may go to the Information Regulator or the Department of Employment and Labour.

| Replacement guarantee | Free replacement if the placement ends within the guarantee period (90 days full-time; 60 days part-time, gardeners and caretakers) |
2. Employer obligations
2.1 Employ the worker lawfully: written particulars of employment (BCEA s29); at least the National Minimum Wage and Sectoral Determination 7 (domestic workers) or the contract-cleaning sector minimum (contract cleaning); working hours and leave per the BCEA; UIF registration and contributions; COIDA registration.
2.2 Never charge the worker any fee or deduct any placement cost from wages (ESA s15).
2.3 Do not contact or hire candidates introduced by Molecules outside the platform for 12 months; if you do, the placement fee is payable.
3. Temporary employment services (locums)
Where Molecules supplies locum workers as their employer, Molecules is a temporary employment service under section 198 of the Labour Relations Act. The client is jointly and severally liable for certain obligations, and after 3 months a worker earning below the BCEA threshold is deemed the client’s employee (LRA s198A): a locum who stays longer than 3 months converts to a direct hire at the placement fee.
4. Information
Use candidate information only to recruit, and delete it if you do not hire (POPIA).
5. General
South African law applies. Disputes: negotiation, then mediation, then expedited arbitration (AFSA, Johannesburg); either party may seek urgent interim relief from a court. Agreements may be signed electronically (ECT Act). The supplier’s legal name and registration details are in the legal imprint at the foot of every page.
